Boxer's nearly twelve but still works hard.
That winter was as cold, the food was shorter.

Squealer reads them figures to prove that their living conditions have greatly improved.
Thirty-one young pigs are born to the farm: they're undoubtedly Napoleon's offspring.
They are given a special treatment, by Napoleon himself.
A schoolhouse is to be built in the kitchen, for the elite.
As rations keep being reduced, the pigs' lives get better.
One more commandment is annulled as the pigs take to drink.
In spite of ceremonies and demonstrations, the animals can't always forget their hunger.
Animal Farm becomes a republic governed by a self-appointed President.
Moses is back after several months: he is scorned but accepted by the pigs.
Boxer falls out of exhaustion to everybody's grief and concern, except the pigs.
Squealer is the one who plans to send Boxer to a hospital, on Napoleon's orders.
Boxer actually ends up at the knacker's where he is slaughtered.
Some animals are naive enough to believe Squealer's descriptions of Boxer's end.
With the money they get from buying Boxer, the pigs buy whisky and celebrate.

C- SUMMARY

BOXER begins to age, but continues to labour at the BUILDING of the windmill.
RATIONS are reduced, except for those of the PIGS and the DOGS
31 pigs are born, and their privileged EDUCATION is supervised by Napoleon.
Compulsory 'SPONTANEOUS demonstrations' are held.
Squealer provides FIGURES to show how much BETTER life is now than it was in JONES ' day.
Moses the RAVEN returns and tells the animals about HEAVEN
Animal Farm is declared a REPUBLIC, with one CANDIDATE for President: Napoleon.
BOXER collapses and is taken off to the slaughterhouse.
Squealer claims Boxer IS RESTING in hospital, but Benjamin knows better.
There is a grotesque memorial CEREMONY, attended only by the pigs.
