Prior experience and adjustment

Prior experience and adjustment so far :

I decide to come to the US to experience the United States, learn a new culture and meet people from different culture/country.

I am here for 2 semesters.

I have never lived abroad before.

I study International Business, I hope to learn more about the american economy, and the american point of view.

For me it is important to learn about the culture to adapt myself in a better way and because I study International Business, I will propably do business with people from different cultures.

Cultural and social adjustment :

When I arrived in the US, the first problem appeared at the boarder control, in fact the DS 2019 was not completed in the right color, so I had to wait 1 hour more than i was supposed to. I took a room in Minneapolis and the morning I visited the Mall Of America. Of course I missed the shuffle for Mankato and waited 1 hour for the next one. Once I was in Mankato I had not a idea where was The Summit (where I live), the driver droped me out at the University. I asked every people I saw where was the Summit, a womam bring me to the International Center where I saw many other international students like me. The director bring to the Summit by car, but in the Office they told me my bill was not paid so I could not live in the apppartment for now but during the movin' in the 4 days.. Fortunately, a friend homed me during this time.

The things that have been easy to adjust to were the amount of work which is very bigger in France and the relationship with my 3 american room mates.

One of the thing I like the most here is the Campus, you can find whatever you want, and the fact that people are very friendly.

To be a foreigner in the US is not really afraid especially in Mankato because we are a lot of International Students.

I will keep in touch with my family via Skype.

Communication and technology :

Yes I use technology and it helps me in my life in the US.

Yes I use technology to stay up on what is going on in France by looking up French News, applications on the French Economy and Skype to communicate. I use my computer and my Ipad the most.

Language :

Most of people are patient when I speak. Most of the time people says I have a cute accent but I have some difficulties to express myself sometimes due to a lack of vocabulary.

Nobody in particular helped me with the language, every person who I speak with helps me to improve my English.
