We are an advertising team, we report on an advertisement from 1964 for our boss.
• Briefly introduce me advertising
It’s an advertisement poster, an advertisement which we can find in magazines, in black and white that dates 1964. It’s a full page magazine advertisement for the Volkswagen VW Beetle. It promotes the cars of dealer Volkswagen. This is an advertisement of the Volkswagen brand to incite the consumers to buy theirs cars.
• What is the model of presentation of this advertisement?
In this advertisement, we can see at the top a Volkswagen Beetle’s photography. It takes up two-thirds of the poster because the brand decides to attract customers’ attention with their first product.
The picture represents the model of car which was a great success in the 20th centuries. We can specify that the vehicle is stationary. It has a buckled bumper and a headlight which was broken that’s why there are fragment on the ground. The photograph played with the lighting to highlight the car. The rest of the document is devoted to the written text.
• What is the aimed public?
The aim of the ad is to show men they need cars of the Volkswagen brand because of their wife. It should boost sales of this brand, the brand targets men because it is men who buy cars, not women.
• And what does it say on our products?
The aim of the ad is to show men they need cars of the Volkswagen brand because of their wife. It should boost sales of this brand, the brand targets men because it is men who buy cars, not women. It should not change the image of the product, but to show that Volkswagen cars are advantageous and convenient for consumers. The ad does not inform the public of a new thing that women break cars, it finds the facts men and turns them to his advantage to encourage them to buy.
• What can you say to me on the slogan?
The slogan and the copy take up half each one. They speak about the men’s point of view. The copy and the catchphrase are written in small print because the designer gives more important for the picture. The text explains what the slogan says in details. And there is a logo is placed instead of the text.
