• What are the basic ingredients of a successful business ?

The basic ingredients of a successful business are, first of all in its financial health, in the progress of its figure of affair, then in its commercial performances and finally in its capacity to conquer new markets. The success of a company also confronts in its capacity to adapt itself, to innovate and to show profits.

• Could you give an example of another company that started small and has become big? Could you describe its development and the reason for its success

L’Atelier Etoile is a company which started small and has become big. This company began its activity in the ironworks by working with private individuals. At present the company is developing its products and its customers. The company started with iron machines. Then, it developed its activities by doing woodwork and making aluminum products. At present, it works with companies and private individuals. It continues to progress in the development of its image by creating catalogs, business cards and its products’ design. The reason of its success is its working atmosphere which is translated in its catch phrase: " L’Atelier Etoile makes a commitment to realize your dreams and to put sparks in your eyes. " The company shows the image of one star: a glimmer of hope.

• What are the pros and cons of working for a small business? The pros and cons of working for a large company? Which would you prefer to work for and why?

In a small company the working atmosphere is pleasant. Everybody is courteous and the employees work in a healthy environment. But it often meets problems of self-financing, consequently, they need to make bank loans.

In a large company, the responsibilities of the manager are also big. To create a big company it is necessary to have a minimum of funds or shareholders who finance the start of the company. But it has a sufficient self-financing, so they dont need any external help such as bankloan.

On the one hand, I think that to begin in the professional world, it is good to start working for a big company because it allows me to acquire work experiences, for example when I start my own company in the future, I will have gained a broad knowledge and information on how to have a successful business. But, one the other hand, I like to work in a small company because they have a good work atmosphere.

• Imagine you are going to set up a business: could you choose and briefly describe the product, the type of business, location, size and number of employees? How do you go about setting up and running your business?

The activity of the company will be the sale of the sportsmen’s nutritions such as energy drinks, energy bars, proteins, and accessories. The company will be a SARL (LIMITED COMPANY). It will be a small company located in Madagascar. It will begin with 4 employees, that is : 2 marketing and sales executives, 1 store and supply administrator and 1 accountant. I would be the junior manager who will oversee the work of my employees and I would watch the development and the innovation of my company.
