Lakshmi Mittal, of its complete name Lakshmi Narayan Mittal, is an Indian businessman specialized in the steel industry and a president of ArcelorMittal. He was born on September 2nd, 1950 to Sadulpur, to Rajasthan, in India.

Lakshmi Mittal specializes, first of all, in the repurchase of steel companies on the verge of bankruptcy; acquiring them at a low price, he modernizes them and restructures them to put back them in working order, what increases considerably their value. Mittal preceded so in particular in the countries of ex-Soviet Union, as well as in Mexico and in Indonesia.

Creator and main shareholder of the Mittal Steel Company NV, Laksmi Mittal manages the biggest producer of steel to the world, assisted by his son, who name is Aditya.

According to the magazine Forbes of March 20102, its fortune is considered at 28.7 billion US dollars what makes of Lakshmi Mittal the 6th man the richest in the world.

After witnessing India win only one medal, bronze, in the 2000 Summer Olympics, and one medal, silver, at the 2004 Summer Olympics, Mittal decided to set up Mittal Champions Trust with $9 million to support 10 Indian athletes with world-beating potential.

In 2008 the Mittals made a donation of £15 million to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, the largest private contribution the hospital had ever received. The donation was used to help fund their new facility, The Mittal Children's Medical Centre.
