On September 14, protests began across Iran following the death of Mahsa Amini.
In my document a journalist from Stanford News, ask questions to Abbas Milani an Iranian American historian and author.
The tragic death of Mahsa has become a symbol of Iranian anger and people are protesting against the government.
Ebrahim Raïssi is the current president of Iran was elected in 2021 election he is part of the conservative party; in 2021 he is accused of crimes against humanity and of having participated in the disappearances and executions of opponents.
The majority of the Iranian people would be dissatisfied with the regime. Amnesty International ranks Iran among the two countries with the highest execution rate (along with China). Torture and rape by the Revolutionary Guards would happen very regularly. Amnesty International also says there is no freedom of expression
Today Iranian want to change their politic regime with equality for women. The Iranian regime is authoritarian with misogyny, a bankrupt economy and the government is an ally of Putin and China.
In Iran, the Islamic regime ban women from all high offices in the country, law are based on the Islamic sharia who considers the life of women literally worth half the life of men. They cannot ask divorce, they cannot receive a passport without the written approval of their fathers, husbands or grandfathers .No surgery can be performed on women without the approval of their male “guardian.” And many academic disciplines are closed to women.
Conclusion:
Today approximately 100 dead since protests began in Iran. Iranians hope for a change but
