During the past few years, I have developed a great interest in politics, psychology, laws and economics.
I am especially interested in Global migrations, class conflict and the effects of ideology on politics and have delved my interests into these subjects with many reading such as “Le Prince” by Nicolas Machiavel, “Germinal” by Zola and “Léviathan” by Thomas Hobbes. I also read a lot of essays regsrding philosophy, politics and economics, I consult Sciences Humaines, Le Figaro, The Economist, OBS and also watch debates on ARTE channel. As a consequence, the interactive nature of politics has allowed me to form my own opinions on the result of political events and their relationship with society.
Moreover, I attended Socialist Party and En Marche Movement’s conferences a few times in Paris and Bordeaux. I enjoyed attending these conferences because I can gain experience of extensive political ideas by debating burning issues such as migrations, terrorism and government reforms. Nevertheless, I am not fully committed to any special political party because I believe that they are more and more overwhelmed by the situation happening in my country; so I rather prefer to acquire my ideas by my own for now. Still, my father is a good friend of François Bayrou a french political men, Mayor of Pau, President of Modem Party, Ex-deputy and Ex-minister. I had a few discussion about politics with him during dinners, he taught me a lot about the working of politics, we also debated about different issues such as tax, migration, manifestation…. These simple moments actually corroborate my will to work in Politics.
I want to be part of politics. I chose this Bachelor because I truly believe that Political Sciences is a field which is most of the time in relation with other fields like Philosophy, Laws, Economics or Psychology. Therefore, I want my university to be flexible, rewarding and engaging, so I choose to expand my knowledge and increase my ability to succeed by studying more than one discipline in your university next year.
About my academic career, last year I achieved my Baccalaureate with Literature major with 4.0GPA. I could have started my Bachelor right after that however, I wanted to know if I could withstand a full English curriculum and also sort some things out before taking long studies. Consequently, I choose to take a Gap Year in the United States of America to discover a new culture while I am also studying at Edmonds Community College in Washington State. Then, I came in September to the United States, alone and completely excited about this experience. Now, six month later, I have friends who come from all over the world, I speak English almost as my native language, I already took Business, Political Sciences and English classes, I am living a beautiful experience and I feel more than ready to go in your university next year.
In high school, I was involved in many extra-curricular activities including captain of the football team and head of the drama club. In these two activities, I was part of a team, then I had to discuss, argue, resolve problems in order to preserve a good ambiance among team members. I know how to take responsibilities and also take hard choice for the team. It is an experience of leadership.
I also have a social awareness experience, indeed I took care of three disabled person when they were doing their pilgrimage in Lourdes during two weeks, last year. I did participate to many humanitarian experience in the United States and in France to feed the more disadvantaged people. By doing these experiences, it made me want to commit myself to a more equal world and fight against inequalities.
