Is today India a modern country?

1) A modern country… (insister plus sur cette partie)

On the other hand, the Indian society changes and evaluates.. Moreover we study the listening report “the two India” which shows India as a country on the march. Its economy keeps transforming thanks to the rapid development of the high-tech sector. India’s GDP has been increasing at an annual rate of 8 %for several years now. A city like Gurgaon is building shopping malls and hotels and it will be ready to accommodate global companies. The radio report introduces the youngest boss of global software company. He founded his company when he was fourteen inspired by Bill Gates, that’s the reason why is considering as a star in his country. He explains that is as other big plans for the future. He is already working with eleven countries in the world including the Unites States.

Moreover India, women achieve to her goals too: example of Sirisha, an Indian entrepreneur who left is job in Manhattan to found her own company in India. Her company is today very important in India; it’s located in the same building as the Indian branch of Google.

The progress is also political. In fact, in just over 50 years India has become an independent democracy. Indira Ghandi was the first female Prime minister in during .Today the Indian president and prime minister are women. In 2007, Pratibah Patil becomes the first female President.

We also see the case of women who become breadwinners through micro credit. Micro credit is supposed to help women to start their own business and have control over their life.

2) …where huge inequalities continue to exist.

But they are actually so poor that microcredits just help them to survive day from day.
