Before leaving Canada I was utterly terrified of traveling and having to move away, even after being in Chili, though I had a great time and made lots of friends over there I still didn’t feel ready for Argentina, just the idea of having to restart my life from zero and the thoughts that there’s a chance that everything could go wrong and just generally end up having a bad time infested my mind. Luckily once I learned that we were going to Argentina, my stress levels lowered a bit. Since I was younger I had a small admiration with the country, I saw a couple of videos of their crowd in a soccer match after they scored and just from that video I learned that they have an undying passion for the sport, like me. Nonetheless I was still scared of going.
In front of the school doors was the principal waiting for me, he gave me a small briefing of how the school works and lead me to my first class, upon opening the class door he told me to introduce myself to the class and asked the students if one of them wanted to give me a small tour of the school and just help me whatever issue I may have. To my surprise about five kids lifted their hands, the teacher proceeded to choose one of the kids to be my “helper”, his name was coincidently also Nicolas, he later ended being my best friend.
