HOLIDAY WORK : A CRUISE TO HULL
I wasn't planning on going on holiday this week but how could I resist this opportunity : a cruise to HULL for EUR 39. I got this offer in my mailbox last week. You 've never heard of HULL? Neither have I ! Anyway, let's have a look on the Internet. HULL a "gem in Yorkshires magnificient crown" , "great place to shop", "old town", "many places to eat and drink", "enjoyable attractions". Let's book the cruise then !
We depart on thuesday from ZEEBRUGGE, at 5.30 PM, spend a night on a boat, in a private inside (for this price) cabin, arrive on 8 AM in HULL, must be back on board at about 5.30 PM to stay another night on board and arrive next morning in ZEEBRUGGE.
The boat is huge, with 2 restaurants, bars (one with dancefloor), a cinema and a duty free shop.
Last year we (my daughter and I) went to YORK on a 4-day cruise on this ship. The sea was calm and I didn't feel worried. We had a nice stay definitely. YORK is a wonderful city, with narrow medieval streets, great museums, a range of shops and, of course, a terrific cathedral. But the highlight was the "ghost walk". Do you know that YORK is the most haunted place of ENGLAND ?
Imagine : it's dark - and rainy -, the streets - old, narrow as I said, with strange shadows - are nearly empty and a strange man tells you terrifying ghost stories, shows you the houses, gardens, churches ... where dreadfull tragedies happened.
I couldn't understand everything but enought to be frightened.
The tour in HULL will be different, but I hope I'll have a nice face to face with my daughter and a nice "tea with muffins" in a cute tea room. Loraine, my daughter, is expecting to find a "Starbucks Coffee" - and I to say, as usually : How can they sell a so disgusting coffee ?, to walk in old romantic streets, to find many unusual shops.
I'm sure we 'll have a great time !
