in 1871, a butcher of German origin, Charles Feltman, served sausages in some bread, in his carriage of Coney Island, small sea resort of New York

The legend says that a New York seller of sausages, who was used to serving the hot sausages by giving to his(her) customers a pair of plastic gloves to avoid that they burn, was lacking one day of gloves and asked to a baker to make him(her) quickly white bread rolls on which he put down(deposited) the sausage. Another version tells that in 1904, during a fair organized in Louisiana, a Bavarian exhibitor, Anton Feuchtwanger, helped by his brother-in-law to mold, presented the hot sausages in a piece of bread, to transport them throughout the exhibition(exposure), without burning.

Term "hot dog", would come a continuation(suite) of deformations(distortions). Everything would begin because of the dog brought also by the German immigrants: the dachshund. This animal, often compared with a sausage, would have given its name to the sausage sold in the street, to mock at the doubtful origin of the meat.

Actually, by 1890, the itinerant(mobile) stands(pits) were called " dogs carts ". It is easy to imagine the sellers of this " sausage of dog " proposing their hot sandwich by crying out " Hot dogs! Hot dogs! ".
