Today I wanna talk to you about one of natural devastating disasters, japan’s tsunamis.

I’ll take the tsunami of March 2011 as an exemple, called the Tohoku tsunami, on the pacific coast

Definition :

Comes from the Japanese words meaning harbor “Tsu” and wave “nami”

• A tsunami is a series of water waves

He have a Small amplitude but very long wavelength

Generally pass unnoticed in open water

the causes of a tsunami might be : Earthquakes, landslides, meteorite impacts, underwater explosion.

Many people think that a tsunami is created by the wind, this is wrong.

They are created, mainly by seims

Sometimes by underwater landslides

More rarely by volcanic eruptions

Exceptionnaly by the impact of a meteorite

There is three basic stages of tsunami behavior :

Generation : An earthsake causes a vertical movement of the seafloor, wich displaces the sea water

Propagation : Large waves then radiate from the epicenter in all direction.

Inundation.

AS YOU CAN SEE,  there is a lot of living quarters, houses, and THEN OBVIOUSLY many habitants. It’s disastrous.

The Tsunami in March 2011 underlines the necessity of space for Japan's security.

 He caused 14,981 dead and about 9,850 missing

In the face of a tsunami hazard, individuals need 

to know how to protect themselves.

Disaster prevention efforts have been made 

since then.

This is in OMAEZAKI, Shizuoda : Chubu Electric Power C. finished the main part of a wall to protect against tsunami at Hamaoka nuclear power station here.

The appalling disorder caused by the tsunami forced the japaneses state to  build defenses as soon as possible

Conclusion :

There is a lot of country’s risks in Japan, but Tsunamis are one of most important problems.

The tsunami triggered one of the natural devastating disasters in living memory

I wanted to create awareness about this topic and I hope u learned something.
