La la land

I liked La La Land more than 42nd Street because it was more modern.

La La Land has a lot of difference with Singing In The Rain and 42nd Street because La La Land does not end well for the main characters. They are not in love and Mia even has a husband and a child. But these three musical comedies has a lot of scenes with tap dancing, and in Singing In The Rain, at the beginning of the story the characters do not like themselves as in La La Land.

If I were to write a letter to Damien Chazelle, she would start like this:

“Dear Mr. Chazelle,

You have created a truly incredible cinematographic work. The dances are spectacular and the songs simply beautiful. A big congratulation for "city of the stars" which gives me tears in my eyes.

After seeing this film, it made me want to see again, again and again, to know by heart every scene and songs. It was very moving and very clever not to make a mundane ending. That's why this film marks me so much: Mia and Sebastien are not together. It broke my heart, but when I think about it, it is the strong point of the story. You show love as it really is, filled with good times and bad times, and you also show that if there are more bad times it can quickly fail.

So I say thank you. Thank you for creating a movie so moving and striking.”

If I were to change something in La La Land, it would be the end. Even though it is the strong point of the film, I can’t accept that Mia and Sebastian are separated !

If only Sebastian had not gone on tour, he would still be with Mia who is the love of his life. If I could, I would also erase the fact that Mia is married to another man. When I saw that, I was really shocked. If I could change something, I wish it to be that.
