Starbuck opened his first store in seattle in 1971 then in 1992 it started providing coffee to fine restaurant and expresso bar that, in itself, was a revolution wasn’t it ?

(reporter) but there more in the story. That was not just inventing a new place it ws also inventing special tea coffee

(Alex) Indeed coffee has being turn into a  luxury product with many flavours and taste you can choose from. It is also a place where you can take time to enjoy siping  your coffee in a very confortable environement with deep arm chairs and non-smokers .

(Alex) That, at the time, was revolutionnery and if i remember correctly delayed starbuk expending into France because of the smoking législation

Today starbucks is celebreting is 48th birthday but Starbuck has had his ups and downs. in 2009  with the rescssion 900 stores were closed and people reled of. starbuck is also known for its comitmen to fair-trade. In 2002 it reached an agreement for selling  fair-trade certified coffee in country where starbuck does business

(Reporter) Tell me about the logo i believe it has been on the move if make
(Alex) some people say the logo is significaly streamlined over the years. We all remember the topless sirene or mermaid that were used first. Then from 1987 to 1992 a braiss who covered with a flowing hair . And Now we have the third version of the logo with the mermaid who is neval and breast unlungul invisible and her fishtail has been cropped and the letters changes has been elarging the sirene image itself.

(reporter) but all the changes are a foot Now we can find Starbucks coffee-bags in supermarkets

(Alex) Starbucks is certainly not sharing winkles with its new facelifts. The Mascotte is different. The stores have been redesigned. There are new product and payments can be done by mobile payment. And e-gifting is now also available. And of course the brand is expanding a new direction with Starbucks products being distributed into grocery stores. And, I am forguessing the Starbucks card that u will be available to use not only in Starbucks coffee shops but also in grocery stores.

(reporter) Starbucks has competitors who who operate in a large scale as well .

(Alex) in Canada, "second cup" which started in 1975 is competing with Starbucks itself and in some other 60 countries. in my  eyes it is  similar to Starbucks as it also provides special tea coffee, offers free wireless internet access. The second cup is mostly in the middle east. And of course local retailers a Starbucks  first rivals.

(reporter) what about it corporation conscious ?

(Alex) sb has been criticized for putting profitability first. It seems that it is trying to project a better image by being involved in granting micro lawns to coffee farmers in emerging countries. It is also thinking of introducing micro lawns in the US as the devide between the haves and the have not is growing.

(Alex) there are two versions. The first one is that Starbuck was capped in# heyhaps first mid# ( jcapte pas) o
In the novel Moby-dick. The second version is that the company was named after a mining camp starbo or starbo on mondrainia in the state of Washington but I'm sure that u will hear osome ther versions
