Black Mirror is a British television anthology
The black mirror series was created in 2011
Each episode features a different protagonist
Each episode has a different cast, scene and reality, but they all deal with the way we live now and how we could live in ten minutes if we made a mistake.
This series attracts me particularly because it deals with a subject for which everyone is concerned
The title of the series refers to the technology we consume as a drug
If it is a drug, then what are the side effects?
First, I am going to present the title of this series and its purpose
After I would tell you about the impact of this series in the world
First of all the "black mirror" of the title is the one you see on each wall, on each desk and in each hand, a cold and shiny screen of a television or a smartphone.
In the first episode, the Princess of the English Royal Family is kidnapped by a stranger who promises to kill her , unless the Prime Minister accepts the same day of having sex with a sow live on television
The perpetrator spreads her message and abducts the young woman via a YouTube video: even if the government tries to erase it, nothing does, the content becomes viral.
We are witnessing here a reflection on the mediaization of political life, on the urgency induced by social networks
To conclude , Black Mirror received a majority of positive criticisms, greeting the originality of the history, and the shocking twists in the drama
In France, she was noticed, commentators summarizing in Le Monde the first episode in the concept of the acrasie, the mixture of aversion and voyeurism, valid for the whole series
I chose to speak about this series because personally I find that it is the very realistic series and that she(it) makes us reflect about the use that we make new technologies
