• Just owning a gun puts you more at risk for being hurt by that gun. GCL

• The 2nd amendment does give individuals the right to own guns for protection of homes and self-defence. (NRA)

• Hunting and shooting are legitimate sports . Hunting provides a necessary service of keeping certain animal populations from becoming a problem. This also provides meat for people to eat. (NRA)

• NASCAR is a legitimate recreational sport. However, those who own NASCAR racing cars are still not permitted to drive their cars around going 200 mph. Gun owners and hunters should not be allowed to carry their sport tools around town, either.(GCL)

• Hunting, gun collecting, and firearm sports stimulate the economy. Over $123 million is collected by the federal government from firearm and firearm related sales. $525 million is collected for licensing and fees. The number of people employed by the firearms industry is over 35,000. (NRA)
