You are now in your 30s and a famous artist. Write a letter to an artist who inspired
you in your youth. (250 words)
Dear Mr. Steve Ignorant,
I am writing this letter to you, with my utmost respect, in order to offer you to
take part in an unprecedented musical project. I'm so excited and it would be such an
honor for me to take the stage with you : I grew up listening your songs and I have to
confess that my fame is mainly due to the inspirations you gave me.
I'll always remember the first time I listened to the single « How does it feel to
be the mother of a thousand dead ? », I was barely in my teens , that night of 1995,
and I wasn't aware at all of the real-world issues. Home alone, listening to my
walkman, I had a tremendous and dreadful realization. It struck me so hard that I felt
as a powerless little boy violently wrestled to the ground. The energy of Crass's music
and the adequacy of the lyrics gave me the will of learning guitar and start
performing, to commit myself in the struggle to defend fundamental rights. I admire
what you did against Margaret Thatcher and her heartless policies during the 1980's,
and I have tried to follow your path humbly.
You have believed in the power of art and that's a reason why I solicit your
participation to this crazy project : I'd like to set up a huge world tour, in which we
would play original songs, along with our well-known singles. The proceeds would
be donated to charities trying to help people in dire straits, all around the globe.
I really hope you'll accept my proposal.
Yours sincerely,
