Introduction

        In my last year of professional baccalaureate «Machining Technician» at the Lycée Sainte Anne-Savoisienne, I did an internship from October 1 to October 19 and November 5 to November 23, 2018 at the company Mecalac Hydromo.

I chose this company because my teacher recommended it to me.

The aim of my internship period is to make me discover the professional world and to deepen my knowledge in the field of mechanics, machining.

The problematic is : Is it better to work in a small or large Company ?

The company

• Hydromo Albens :

        Hydromo was founded in September 1989 and was dedicated to the hydraulic production of the PEL-JOB group as well as Mecalac, which was responsible for producing the welding mechanic. She is situated in Albens.

The group, in 1995, is transferred to Volvo. Hydromo then supports the production of welding mechanics. Volvo withdrew in 1999 and a private shareholder took over Hydromo.

Currently, Hydromo is a subsidiary of the Mecalac group. Hydromo’s workshop is thus divided into two distinct parts : the welding mechanic and the hydraulic.

The company has a total of 45 employees : 7 employees in offices, 15 employees in Hydraulic and 23 employees in Welding mechanic.

• Welding mechanic:

        The mechanical welding part concerns the manufacture of frames, equipment and buckets of certain models.

• Hydraulic :

Hydromo mainly assembles cylinders and manufactures them. In parallel, the rotating joints (hydraulic and electric connection between the frame and the rotating turret) and the various hydraulic dispensers are also assembled.

The Staff

The company has a total of 45 employees : 7 employees in offices, 15 employees in Hydraulic and 23 employees in Welding mechanic.

During my internship I worked as a team. But sometimes I worked alone on the machines. I also worked in the offices.

I worked with De Oliviera, Fillard Garnier and my tutor. I have a good relationship with them.

The people are helphul and friendly and the relationsip between the management and workers is good.

Work and working conditions

I did an internship from October 1 to October 19 and November 5 to November 23, 2018.

I started at 8:00 a.m, I had a break at noon and I ended the day at 4:30 p.m. I taked my meals in the cafeteria.

I worked indoors, The workshop was clean and there was a good temperature but it was noisy.

I mainly worked on machines.

At the end of my internship I was paid 450 euros.

Typical Day

The morning :

- I woke up in the morning at 6:30 a.m, I took the 7:10 a.m bus to the station and I took the

train from 7:37a.m to Albens.

        - I arrived in the company at 8:00a.m, I changed in the locker room and then I went to the hydraulic workshop

        - From 8:00 a.m to 12:00 I worked on the machine and I often went to see what was happening in the other workshops.

At noon :

        - At noon I was going to eat until 1:00 p.m
