Born on May 14/1984, in New-York, Mark Zuckerberg founded the social-network website "Facebook". He left Harvard University after his sophomore year to concentrate on the website, the user base of which has grown to more than 250 millions people. Making Zuckerberg a billionaire. The birth of Facebook was recently portrayed in the film " The Social-Network ".

Mark Elliot Zuckerberg was born into a comfortable, well-educated family, and raised in the nearly village of Dobbs Ferry. He have 4 siblings, his mother worked as a psychiatrist and his father is a dentist.

Zuckerberg developped an interest in computers at an early age. His first production was a messaging program which he named " ZuckNet ", when he was 12. He also created computer game with his friends just for fun. Several compagnies including AOL and microsoft expressed an interest in buying some of his idea and hiring the teenager before graduation but he declined the offer.

By his sophomore year at Harvard University, he had developped a reputation as the computer genius on campus. At that time he built up a program called " CourseMatch " which helped studients choose their classes based on the course selections of others users. He also invented " FaceMash ", an app that compare pictures of 2 studients on campus and allow the users to vote on which one is more attractive. The program became widely popular but w as later shut down by the school administration deemed inapropriate.

Based on the buzz of his previous project, three of his fellow studients sought him out to work on an idea for the social-networking called " Harvard Connection ". Mark agreed to help with the project but soon dropped out to work on his own social-network site.

Zuckerberg and some friends created a site that allowed users to create a profil, upload photos and communicate with other. They first called it " The facebook ". He dropped out of college to devote himself to Facebook all time. By the end of 2014, Facebook had 1 millions users. In 2005, his entreprise received a huge boost that a value of 12 millions with this help they granted access to other college, High school and international school.

Mark seemed to be going nowhere but up. However in 2006, the creators of " Harvard Connection " claimed that Zuckerberg stole their idea. He had to pay 65 millions dollars. Yet Zuckerberg and Facebook continued to succeed in the spite of the critic.
