The second country that we have studied is Austria. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender rights have advanced significantly in the 21st century. Both male and female same-sex sexual activity are legal in Austria.

Registered partnerships were introduced in 2010, giving same-sex couples some of the rights of marriage. An other survey conducted in September 2018, twelve years after the first one, said that 74% of Austrians supported same-sex marriage and 26% were against.
