Notion 1 :  PROGRESS

INTRO : I’m going to talk about Progress, though the documents I’ve studied this year, I’ll try to answer the folliwing questions :

1. What is progress ?
2. A tech less world
3. Teen’s addiction to new technologies

I will show if we should fear new technologies and to what exent they’re present in our everyday life.

1. WHAT IS PROGRESS ?

First let’s deal with my own definition of progress is the improvement of someone or something

Then throught another video entiled modern technology : the ugly truth, we’ve seen the negative points of all this modern techonology

The document is a video about technology and its evolotion in buisness and society.

The video shows us positive and negative aspects of modern technology

Thanks to new technology, companies can work faster, but thse inovations have a price and to be where they are today, they spend a lot of money , seventy five and five  billion dollars precily because the negative fact is they have to protect their software to keep their information safe and out of pirates hands

These innovations continu and never stop to get phones, computers laptops, smaller, cheeper, safer…Techonoly has definately an impact on the way we actually live, now our houses are totally , full of technologies we are surrounded by technologial devices

But all this technology make people closer because we can stay in touch with the people who live far from us. The modernisation of our society contributes to great social changes like the revolution, the Arabian spring . For the children and teenagers its a mass distraction object and especially at school, its prooven that it reduces the concentration of students and decreases productivity for adults. These new ways-of communication make kids more aukward than before. Technology is for sure the future of our society but to be a great change we must use it in a responsible.

• Technololy is so present in our life nova days that sometimes it has serious consequences and some people have decided to do whithout it.

1. A TECH LESS WORLD

In this part, I’ll talck about a video which is a report about a massive power outage

This document is a video report, it’s a flash news dealing with a massive power outage caused by a transmission failure at a switching station in Arizona. The outage extended to southern california and New Mexico. The outage trapped pepople in electric trains, elevatols and switch traffic lights offine. It even caused a traffic gan in Orange County, after that 1,4 million customers were without power. This unprecedented event even forced the nuclear peant in San Onofre offire.

• As a notion of fact even if some people have decided to quit the extensive use of technogicial devicies most teens can’t do without it and get addicted

1. TEEN’S ADDICTION

I’m going to deal with 1 extract from the American horror comedy series Scream Queens that illustrate this idea.

It’s a night an a girl is alone packing up to leave her room. She receives a text message from an unkonw sender, the test is a dare. She opens the door and she sees a red devil who enters and they go an texting each other instead of talking. She shouldn’t have opened the door, He suggests a danse then he sends a text to say he will her and finally stabs her, She falls on the floor.

The devil walks to her and she kicks him off. He thinks she’s dead but she menages to reach her computer on her side table and send a message for help. The red devil stabs her again but before dying she succeds in sending the message
