Internet surveillance powers

Hello everyone ! Today’s topic is about Internet surveillance powers. The Government is thinking about giving more power to police. This new law will provide strong safeguards so they can protect our country. They could be allowed to check what people are doing online. But how do they supervise all our informations ?

Nowadays, some technics are already used, like collecting datas about your calls and your emails. Some informaticians can also hack your phone or your computer. Did you know there were new proposals to keep an eye on the population ?

No, but it looks like you do.

Yes indeed, companies are asked to keep internet connections records only for a year. These datas show which site people were connected but not what they did on these websites. According to policemen, this is vital.

But what do you think will be people’s reactions ?

To me, the Government and the police will invade people’s privacy if they introduce new surveillance powers. What about you ?

I think the price to pay is worth it. We have to improve crimefighting. I was wondering what did the Government use in the past before Internet surveillance ?

Before it’s the telephone records who were used to have informations. But this kind of surveillance would have a lot of inconvenients nowadays, because people use internet to communicate. So they would have a lack of datas. There is one question left : where do all this end ?

I believe that people must have the right to express their meanings through a vote.
