Idea of progress: has progress always a positive influence of the public?

I’m giong to talk about the « idea of progess ». Progress is the action of going fowards, of being better. For a society or for humanity. Progress is the evolution in the sens of an improvement, it’s a progessive transformation towards more knowledge an hapiness. In class we have studied a lot of documents like : « danger of the internet », « sex gossip », « the end of forgetting » and « facebook manners ». To approach the notion of idea of progress i have decided to deal with the subject of social networks. Has progress always a positive influence on the public ?

First, i shall present the posotive influence of the progress of the social networks in our private and public life. Then, i will speak about the negative aspects of the headway of internet on the live of individuals.

In some years, the social networks have tooken a bug place in our lives and made societies evolve. 50 years ago, our grand parents sent letters to communicate and waited a week to have an answer. At the moment, with social networks like fb, to twitter or instagramme we can communicate immediately with whoever. Thanks to these new communications, we can keep stronger and more obligated to read numerous newspapers, in some clicks only, the information appears but the information is not always right and we should make attention « like in sex gossip ». The internet and espacially the progresse, social networks have created a new linke tween people because internet is accessible for everyone and by users of any age.

However, the development has not only positive consequences like in the document « fb manners » where a woman who stalk her husband in the social networks and she see informations wrong. She became angry and does a group against him and at the final his sent in jail. Some people spend hours in the daya t the computer, and more particularly the younger ones, which can affect their schooling and their comportment in the real life : it’s an addiction for them. But also some individuals who expose their lives on such social networks as fb, without realizing. Everyone can have access at the informations and they can see it. This i scan be detrimental to their future life, their jobs like « the end of forgetting » where a teacher post on a social network a picture of her drinking at a ârty and her boss see it and she was fire. In addition, in recent years it has been found that some rules and culture of our society disappeard with the progress. For exemple just for the language people do not writhe in full, they use sms style words that over problemes arise like in the comprehension . Some people are no longer aware of the difference between the real world and the virtual world that these the soci        al network offer

To conclude social networks allow a new lifestyle, less restrictive and more open to the world. However, these social networks are beginning to cause some problems that threaten our traditions, our culture and our education.

To me the social network are indispensable in our lives. But i think we need to set limits not to be exceeded. The internet don’t became more important than real life like in « craving your next web fixe addiction » where a mother of a family neglecting her child and don’t go in her job. For me is the wors aspect of internet.
