Indeed, the fact that there are kind of hut with a smoke suggest human presence and civilization. Then, we can see two various mountains thanks to the light and the dark it is rejecting. Finally, the rest of the painting shows a large water point, next to there are shrubs, all of this part is used with dark colour.

REFERENCE TO THE HISTORICAL CONTEXT
As a matter of fact, "Humbolt Mountain" is fully anchored in the time period when it was painted, first of all with its subject matter.. In the 19th century, the first inhabitants of Nevada are the Native Americans: in the early days, they were nomads and hunted hares, antelopes and squirrels. They supplemented their diet with the contributions of fishing. They also picked the berries and picked roots.

- CONCLUSION
All thing considered, with this painting Deakin is a true defender of the principles of American Romanticism, implicitly advocating the beauty of nature. He also uses his imagination to propose a bright vision of the future of mankind : it seem that humans are living into a kind of hut covered with a cloth for protection.
