This fresco is the work of Danny Devenny and Carlos Latuf. Danny Devenny is the former(old) member(limb) of the IRA and Carlos Latuf the Brazilian political caricaturist. The fresco was produced during summer, 2012. This mural is a part of International Wall which is a place of tourism in Ulster(Northern Ireland), he(it) groups(includes) several wall in the continuation(suite) concerning international conflicts.
Our look is attracted at first by both hands which are held then towards the bars of prison which are on a black bottom. Two arms, dressed in shirt, pass between bars, we recognize the Irish nationality and the Palestinian nationality in the colors of sleeves(rounds,handles), thanks to the colors of the flag of (green-white-orange) Ireland and the flag of Palestine (green - white-black-red). Bars and presence of shade(shadow) give us a deep impression(printing). Furthermore, the handshake means the peace and the solidarity and it is on a grey bottom which is a color which evokes the boredom, the misfortune and the confusion. If we look at this image, we notice that on this grey bottom, there are warm colors such as the red, the beige and the orange, colors which we evoke love, passion and enjoyment. We also find the white, the color often seen as representative of the peace and the purity or the hope. Below the handshake, is registered SOLIDARITY P.O.W.S. This acronym " P.O.W.s " means Prisoner Of War. This registration(inscription) places the Ulster(Northern Ireland) and Palestine near(on the side of) the victims.
The hands which are held would have symbol the solidarity, the brotherhood or still the friendship. The grip(taking) of hand closes show a mutual support of both countries.
Bars as for them, more make a reference to the prison, the confinement or still the oppression.
The Irish flag (and not the northern ireland) would send back to the political membership oof the prisoner, she indicates to us thatit is a republican fresco
