During the last class we talked a video clip from the movie Gattaca.. In the movie we observed that there 3 protagonists whose 2 parents and a generalist practitioner(a doctor).The action takes place in an office inside the hospital.

We said that the generalist tries to convince parents to have a genetically baby. The one child named  « Vincent » .A council of doctor. to give him a brothers to play with.

The parents want to create a baby well integrated in society that live longer, more better than « normal »( naturally conceived babes).Then, we explained that the generalist wants to give the child the best possible start by eradicating major diseases. The parents can to choose the gender because wants a selection of the best qualities from eggs.

Further, parents want to leave a few things to chance but the doctor is not agree.We have the impression this is a catalog because we see in the background 4 eggs on a computer screen.

This makes the baby seem less human.(unequal). We explained that creates perfect clones from prefect human. (to eradicate genetical diseases).They are creating prefect humans and this is impossible in fact.

We said that a competition is in human nature. «Naturally » conceived are discriminated against because the movie perfectly conceived babies.( beauty is subjective). All differences are crucial in society: to get better and to have different points of view and this it can be good for parents who can't conceive naturally.

We should fix the limit of genetic manipulation on health.
