Susan Brownell Anthony, born on February 15, 1820 and died on March 13, 1906, is an American civil rights activist who played a central role in the struggle for women's suffrage in the United States, which led in 1920 to the adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, giving women the right to vote. She is co-founder, with Elizabeth Cady Stanton, of the National Woman Suffrage Association

Gloria Marie Steinem, born March 25, 1934 in Toledo, Ohio, is an American feminist, journalist, editor, publisher, documentary filmmaker, essayist and activist of the women's liberation movement, a major figure of the so-called second wave feminist movement. In 1971, she was the founder of Ms. Magazine with Dorothy Pitman Hughes. With Bella Abzug, Betty Friedan and Shirley Chisholm, she founded the National Women's Political Caucus and, in 1974, she helped found the Coalition of Labor Union Women

Betty Naomi Goldstein Friedan, born February 4, 1921 in Peoria (Illinois) and died February 4, 2006 in Washington D.C., is an American feminist, journalist and essayist. She is one of the major figures of the so-called second wave feminist movement in the United States. This movement was a reaction to a period of return to family values idealizing the housewife and the model wife, as promoted after World War II.

Elizabeth Cady Stanton was an writer but also an activist. She’s born in November 1815 in a privileged family but she decided to fight against the equal rights for women. She was a leader of the women’s rights movement in the U.S between the middle and the end of the 19 century. She also defended other movemen like abolitionism. She died in october 1902 in NY at the age 86, it was 18 years before women achieved the right tovote in the US
