My name is Kala Dandekar, I am fourteen and a half years old and I live in the small village of Kojoli in Maharashtra State, three or four hours from Bombai. I come from a larger family of farmers; I have four older brothers and two younger sisters. My mother unfortunately died when I was ten years old, and my father works in the fields so his income is rather low, he earns 2500 inr (Indian rupee) per month. My family and I will live in a small typical house with three rooms. It is made essentially from a mixture of clay, straw and cow dung.

 Since I was a child, my parents engaged me a man named Radjan and their dowry so that I could marry him, the wedding would normally be scheduled in six months.

The problem is that type of life. Having a lot of childrens and work in the field with my husband is really not my dream

Since I was a child I have been watching Indian films from the Bollywood industry. When I was a little girl, my dream has been to be a movie actress like Malika Scherawat who is my hero. My real aspiration is to be a Hollywood actress. But after thinking deeply on the situation it’s clear that i have more change to suceed in my native country because the Indian Film Industry is growing and creat larger opportunities.
