“...It was less than a second maybe a half, but it changed everything…”

Everything happened so fast. Minutes ago we, were laughing and at the next one, we were holding our breath.

And I will never forget this day. Me, my husband James and our eighteen month Aaron, decide to spend our summer holidays at my parents, so that Aaron could meet his great grandparents. By the way, we also invited my brother Chase with his wife and their two children Jacob and Sky, my oldest sister Jen with her husband John and their four children Scott, Dan, Sam and Alice. And my other brother Chad and his wife, so Aaron could meet everybody at once.

We were enjoying our time together, as a family. The children were having fun together. While we remembered our good memories.

But nothing prepared us, me, to what was going to happened.

For the few days we had left, we decided to do a family trip for three days, far away from home. We set up the tents on the lake shore and everybody jumped into the water.

Then Sky and Alice asked me to let them take Aaron with them for a swim. I first said no because he was still little and fragile but they insisted. Finally James assure me that he will keep an eye on them. So I accepted.

Suddenly we heard a scream, we all run to it, but when I get there, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. He was there lying on the floor. James was also on the floor trying to keep him alive, but nothing. One of us called the ambulance.
