Can we consume without buying ?

In our society we have to pay what we consume, but for years several association like freegan look for different buying alternative to fight against the over consuming, waste and inequalities.

First, there is the bartering, this is an exchange of goods like foods, clothes, service. This alternative is famous but few people do it. The bartering allow to reduce the over consuming and wasting because we can barter what we dont need. This alternative allow to increase the socialization and the sharing between people. For exemple there is many neighboor who barter with each other. The bartering is also present on Internet to connect people who want bartering.

For people who wants travel there is the woofing. This is a deal between for exemple a farmer and a traveller, the traveller have to work in the farm and in exchange the farmer gives a bed and food to the traveller.

Secondly, we can also have a garden and cultivate some fruit and vegetable. I think this is a good alternative because it’s fun if you like gardening, you learn tips and you save your money.

Or we can also recycling and renovate our old object. This alternative start to be popular. For exemple we can turn bottle into mud for flowers.

Those alternative buying have many avantage like fight against the over consuming, we can do economies, it allow to meet new people, it make learn some tips for gardening or renovate stuff.

Some association like freegan try to live without buying anything, but I think it’s impossible to live without buying because those alternative have limit. For exemple i can’t gardening enough to live a year. To my mind those alternative are good for saving money and fight against the over consumind and wast but not enough for living.
