Hurricane Irma

I am going to talk about hurrican Irma, on Friday September 8th hurricane Irma hit the Bahamas before hitting Cuba on Satursday morning then Florida.

It was a very powerful and catastrophic hurricane.

It caused a lot of damage particularly in the Caribbean and the Florida keeys.

Many people were injured and many died.

The Caribbean's island  were colonized by Europe, but more exactly the Antilles.

They are situated on the Caribbean sea.

Territories are still dominated by the French territory.

However other Islands are colonized, for exemple the Guadeloupe, Martinique,Saint barthelemy and Saint Martin.

The Guadeloupe it's a departement and a region of besides sea European but it is an outermost region of European, so it consists of two lands: basse-terre and big earth.

The basse-terre is a French island small Antille and big earth is nicknamed the little Bretagne of Antille, a French island who represent east wing of buterfly that formed the two principal islands on Guadeloupe.

It is the most populoud island.

While the Martinique is a French departement, situated on the Caribbean particularly on archipelago little Antille.

The first French colonize was in 1635 by Pierre Belain.

So Saint Martin is place 250 km north of Guadeloupe, she has 75000 habitants.

She is sharing between two state separated by a border 10 km, separating the French portion and Neerlandaise portion.

The French portion is on the north of island.

In closing saint barthelemy is a French island too and the september 6th was devasted by Irma.

French are colonize Caribbean island because they build a colonial empire.

French were colonized the Caribbean because they build an empire.

Irma developed (diveloped) at the (thi) end of August and quickly (rapidement) became a category 3 hurricane, then a category five.

With very strong winds, Irma reatched (ritche) its peak intensity with 260 km/ h (two hundred and sixty kilometers per hour) winds.

It is not the first time what l'hurricane affects the Caribbean , it's since 1932.

Given that Irma's forecast trak was along much of the Caribbe an Island chain warnings were issued. (ichioude)

Ad a consequence residentes, safeguarded their homes and cleand-up their properties because of strongwinds.

Irma made 10 deaths in Caribbean.

Irma destroyed 95% of the structures on  Barbuda for example Hospital,schools and Hotels.

Roofs were blownoff.        

The airport became inoperative, there was no more watter and telecommunisation services.

Irma's extreme winds ripped trees out of the ground and sent vehicles and debries everywhere.

Roads were submerged.

Some people died and many were injured.

Unfortunately it also had anpact on the wildlife.

It will take years to rebuild.
