Journalist: -Hello, Banksy, nice to meet you!

Banksy: -Hi ! Nice to meet you.

Journalist: -Can you describe yourself in a few words?

Banksy: -Hello, I'm a British artist, better known as Banksy.

Journalist: -What is your job for people who don't know you?

Banksy: -I'm a painter, more specialised in street art. But I'm also a sculptor and film maker.

Journalist: -How long have you been doing street art?

Banksy: -When I was younger, I was part of the graffiti group, Bristol's DryBreadZ Crew. I did my first work in Bristol. I don't really remember, but I'd say I really started in the year one thousand nine hundred.

Journalist: -What is it about? What is the message you want to convey in your work?

Banksy: -I use painting to convey messages that often mix politics, humour and poetry. My works are humorous images, sometimes combined with slogans. The message is usually anarchist, anti-militarist, anti-capitalist or anti-system and my characters are often rats, monkeys, policemen, soldiers, children, famous people or old people.

Journalist: -Why do you hide your identity in every interview?

Banksy: -I'm in disguise because you can't really be a graffiti artist and be a public figure. They are two things that don't go together.

Journalist: -When you destroyed your own painting at the auction in London, what was the reason? What was the reason?

Banksy: -By partially destroying my work "The Girl with the Balloon" three years ago, in the middle of the auction! It was because I wanted to denounce the excesses of money. I have to admit that the gamble failed. (smiles).

Journalist: -Thank you Banksy. Thank you for having granted us this interview!

Banksy: -It was a pleasure, thank you. Bye for now!
