Notion Idea of Progress

I am going to talk about the notion Idea of Progress. In first, I would like give you a definition of the progress. The progress is an improvment, an evolution in science which contributes to making the world a better place. To illustrate this notion, I have chosen two documents : The first document is a video about a professor of cybernetics named Kevin Warwick and the second document is a picture extract of a newspaper and who explains the evolution since yesterday to tomorrow.

So, the first document is a video about Kevin Warwick who is a scientist of the new generation. Surnamed The Professor Tournesol because he acts like him (he is crazy in the good sens) but also the professor cyborgs because he teaches the cybernetics at The University of Redding in England. But what is the cybernetics ? The cybernetics is a science who want create a link between humans and biology. The professor Kevin Warwick explains how this science could be in the future helps the humans to find cure for illness like alzheimer for example. After that he explains that is his work, everyday is different because they make many experimentation and he says that for example that when he cans avoid reunion, he searches how the brain of humain walks because his reach is create a robot with a brain of human like in the science fiction and he quotes the films Terminator where the protagonist is a cyborg and he says that his dream is make a robot with a humain brain to help people in need.

The second document is a picture of a newspaper about the technology who explains the evolution sinec yesterday to tomorrow. We can see that the picture is organized in three steps. The first step, we can see the creation of Adam by God. With the second step we can see that Adam who symbolize humans give life to a baby and the next step shows that humans give life to robots. In first time, this document shows the evolution of the technology and the real progress but with this document we can imagine a fourth step where the humans disappear The humans disappear to let their place to robot to create robot. This fourth steaps could be explains the end of humanity in the future because of the progress of technology.

In conclusion, we can see that the progress can be a good thing because like we seen in the first document, the progress can permit in the future to help to find cure to illness.. but this same progress could be a danger like we see in the second document because the progress can be can be the origin of the end of mankind
