Introduction:

First of all, it’s important to define the notion of myths and heroes. A myth is a traditional concerning the early history of a people and explaining a natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural being or events whereas a hero is a person who is admired for his/her courage or outstanding achievements. They create or perpetuate inspiring heroic figures. Today, many people give priority to finding an interesting job which could bring them money, fame and recognition. However, your future career often depends on your background, education, values, personality and your ambition. People need to be inspired, to have a model, to guide them.

So, how can someone's career be influenced by his heroes and myths?

Development:

People are inspired by people who have achieved great things, even if they have not saved lives, they call them heroes. A hero can be an athlete, a businessman or an inventor. First of all I would like to talk about Vince Papalee, an American Football player, who used to be the oldest Rookie in NFL. Basically he was not destined to become a professional player, but thanks to his determination, his talent and his work, he managed to reach his dream. This is why Vince Papalee is seen as a hero for many. His story corresponds to the myth of “the self-made man” in the US: he succeeded without any help, just his own strength.

Secondly, some people admire great investors. As example we can think of Steve Jobs who made the success of Apple or of Thomas Edison, one of the greatest investor.

This is for their success, often started from nothing, their generosity and their determination that these people are admired of many and treated as heroes. They became living icons.

Sometimes some people are admired by others, even if they haven’t done anything remarkable: they have a dream job.

Unfortunately being inspired by a really successful person can make you disappointed. If you really want to success but you can’t manage to, the gap between what you are and what you want to become is often source of frustration. When a few people manage to get to the top, many people fail. You have to keep in mind that even if you are inspired by mythical stories and heroes, in the end you will have to face reality and do your best to make your dreams come true.

Conclusion:

To conclude, we could say that being inspired by heroes is important to show you that your dreams can come true, but you must not forget that you have to act for your own success.
