Good morning, today i’m gonna speak about the notion of spaces and exchanges
Conformly to the definition given in class, this notion represents exchange/flow :
-a continus movement or circulation. All types f exchanges : people, trade, media, etc….
The exemple I chose has been taken from a book called The Tortilla Curtain written by T.C. Boyle and published in 1995
América and Candido are 2 illegal immigrants. They crossed the border USA/Mexico.
They are gomesless so they are living in a canyon near L.A. .
Candido is 33 and América is 17. As they leave togeather, we can imagine that they are a couple.
They arrived to the USA 4 mouths ago.
They left to their village down in Mexico and everything they knew in the world.
America took a bus to look for a sewing job but surprised, there is not anything here.
She spent/waisted 2,35$ she did not find anything. The work office didn’t exist.
On her way back, she got lost. She was scared, she didn’t recognize anything, everything looked stange for her and she didn’t speak the language. This was the first time than she arrived to the USA that she was apparted from candido.
She was confrontate to rcismn and people streamed to her to go back __ she belongs. She even saw the police who was checking the paper of immigrant. After it, she kept walking the way and she could free from the control and got cum but at that time, she was angry and thinsty and she sees candido, she saw him stand off into the way. She thought that he was drunk, indeed, he spent all of this economies and when she touced him, he was dead. This means that América was in the worst trouble of her life.
DC, she was illegal, in a strange country, without speaking languages & now, without candido.
In conclusion, the first nation of immigrants in the world had past difficulties dealing with the immigrants even if they welcomed them anyway. However, nowadays, the immigrants are well integrated. Immigrants are building this nation. They don’t only work, they create exchanges too by bringing their own culture with them. The fact that they learn English quickly permits conversations leading to exchanges about art, sports, politic or any form of social activity.
