Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing in response to the opening for Financial Market Utilities Data Analyst Intern at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

After reading the internship description and requirements, I came to believe that I am a good fit for the particulars of this internship. I am convinced that my finance and economics background, in addition to my strong quantitative skills – as my GMAT score shows (Q50/51– 87% percentile), will help your Financial Market Utilities department maintain its excellent track record.

From an early age, I have been fascinated by different foreign languages and was able to become proficient in three different ones. With time, I came to believe that learning new programming languages is very parallel to learning new languages. Therefore, although the only programming language I studied and used is Python, I am eager to learn and get to use any programming language that the job will require.

In addition to my economics, finance, Python programing, and quantitative proficiencies, I also developed throughout college innovative problem solving approaches, patterns recognition, attention to the right detail, and an ability to summarize details and articulate the primary points in a short amount of time. In fact, I believe that this set of skills is crucial to anyone willing to work in a fast-paced environment such as finance’s.

Finally, I am keen to work for an establishment with a pronounced reputation such as The Federal Reserve’s. I have long been captivated by Mr. Volcker’s persistence that led him to a victory over inflation in the 1980s. I set him as an example, and strive to be like him in dedication, hard-work, and perseverance.
