I am writing to express my great interest in the internship offer that you have published, as it has always been my ambition to integrate an organisation like yours.

Thanks to the swift progress of my 4 years spent at … in … as a bachelor student, and actually finalising my … I currently possess what I believe to be a strong theoretical and practical understanding of finance.

Over the course of undergraduate years at …, I had the opportunity to take a semester at a business school abroad. I studied at …, during the fifth semester. The university was not chosen by accident but was a thoroughly thought-out decision. This exchange gave me the opportunity to dive into a completely different culture, get to know new people and explore a new country. That semester was a turning point of my life. I have learned to respect the beliefs of others and to adapt to different environments; the exchange helped me to gain deeper understanding of the outward things and to discover new aspects of myself. I have lived with people from all over the world, who helped me to deepen my knowledge of foreign cultures even beyond America. That experience made me grow a lot as an individual and encouraged me to move abroad.

Throughout the four years bachelor studies I had a chance to intern in four different firms. Three of them were only for 2 months long. I had the opportunity to work as an intern in the Finance department in …, one of the most well-known insurance company in Monaco. There I got a chance to finally put acquired knowledge into practice and see how things work. For my last internship, I worked in a famous private portfolio management company in …, called …. Because I closely worked with highly qualified portfolio managers, I mastered my skills of risk management, asset pricing and portfolio management. During all my internship, because of the lack of employees during summer, I was given a lot of responsibilities. I had to be independent and very conscientious in every task I was given.

Knowing the mission of the IMF and considering my background I believe I possess a good potential to be useful in this organisation.
