SUGGESTIONS FOR AN ECO FRIENDLY WORKPLACE

Dear Mr Smith,

I am writing to you to, share my ideas of the sustainable development in the company.

I think there are some things for improvement in terms of promoting fair trade products and respect for the environnement. During the coffee break I spoke with the colleagues about my initiative, and they very agree.

Firstly, it is important to change the coffee brand to buy a fair trade coffee brand. I would like to buy fair trade coffee, to ensure that the employees are treated well.

Secondly, the canteen should include more food from local farms that respect the environment. For me, it's very important to buy local products to eat well and to contribute to the local economy.

Thirdly, the company could introduce recycled toilet paper and paper towels in the toilets. A company uses a lot of toilet paper. If every company used recycled paper, the planet would have much less impact.

Fourthly, it would be a good idea to encourage employees to open their windows to take advantage of natural light instead of switching on electric lights. If everyone paid attention to electricity, the company could make financial and consumption savings.

To conclude, the company's internal and external reputation could be upgraded if the management promoted fair trade and workers' rights. Moreover, these ecological actions will result in cost reductions.
