Donald Trump, State of the Union Address

The document we are about to see is a state of union address delivered by Donald Trump in February 4 2020. The speech took place in the chamber of the United States house of representatives. First we are going to see the way Trump sells his “prowess” through his mandate and then we will examine how he openly accuses his opponents as much as the other countries of the world.

In his state of union address, Donald Trump is telling how brilliant he has been during his mandate. He doesn’t fail to abuse it in terms of praise in his own regard.

we notice moreover that he allows himself to use the personal pronoun "I" and that he specifies each time "since my election" (l18) "from the instant i took office" (l15) or "in  three little years "(l8) in order to minimize time and enlarge the scale and glory of his efforts at its peak.  Throughout the text he talks about what he has accomplished by demeaning his previous adversaries and also the other countries of the world

from line 11 to 15, we can see that he uses the roots of the usa, of the family, of the absolute will for individual independence to say that the country has changed and that for this he must in no case and under  no pretext to return to what it was (under the control of other heads of state who preceded it) It's a bit of a way to prove that it feels ready for a new mandate and a way to coax them into  showing them the things that he managed to accomplish with the help of the country, compared to several years ago, by exaggerating in a rather visible way his words but by never exposing the means that he had to use (the means  physical or human) he only gives big numbers to show that he has power.  The basis of his speech is actually based on his desire to show how much he has made the United States but not only, because he wants to give the prestige of American growth for himself.

he uses a way to attack his previous opponents quite virulent because he lowers them and reduces the fruit of their efforts to nothing since he uses them to be able to coax but also distort the data of his words.  His speech is based on the demeaning of his precedents and his enemies in order to be able to highlight Trump's "efforts" and his work during his three years in office.  from line 30 to 35 he says he owns and has spent nearly $ 2 trillion for the American army, he also details the weapons and powers he has to date, and this passage of his speech is specially designed  to frighten but also to face his adversaries by the art of "bluffing" because if necessary it is said that these things in order to provoke his multinational adversaries. at line 40 he says "save" students who have been "trapped in failing government schools" by also saying that the program was too public and that he was going to establish and that this will was now available in 18 states, programs of  scholarships to be able to reach private schools and therefore more "prestigious" than public ones, we obviously see that the expected goal is to enrich the usa because private schools are extremely expensive and he wants students to get into debt very hard.

to conclude we can say that trump uses in an execrable way the common demeaning and the development of the fruits of the demeaning and of many crimes as well as many injustices without naming or highlighting them.  however, it is true and real that america and the united states are experiencing a real change, but at what cost and for how long ...
