This picture is an add which was produced by the « World Wide Fund (WWF)», an international non-governmental organization founded in 1961, that works for preserving the nature, and all its wildlife.
This add shows a man who looks like « Tarzan » and who jumps from of tree to tree with help of a liana but is landing in a deforested land. A sentence at the bottom of the ad says that "15km² of rain forest disappear every minute." At the bottom, nearby the remaining trees there is a machine cutting down more trees, and in the horizon you can see an industrial city. This add is funny, but it denounciates something very sad and important, it shows that 15 km² of rain forests are disappearing every minute because of human activity and needs. If we keep acting this way, humans won't have forests to jump from tree to tree, and if there are no more trees, climatic conditions would become unfavorable for all life on planet earth.
The visual design is good because everyone can understand this message, because nearly everyone knows who is Tarzan, and can understand the important message which is communicated by the picture.
Meanwhile, the statistic at the bottom makes people think about the issue and discuss on what will happen if deforestation continues like that. The dark and stormy clouds also reflect that deforestation will lead to unfavorable climate change.
The sadness of the rain, means that the future will be sad if we keep acting like that.
The idea behind the picture is that everyone understands and recognizes his responsibilities in protecting the Earth from excessive deforestation and other exploitation. Unable to do so will lead to unfavorable living conditions for us and other life on planet earth.
We can finally say that Tarzan is falling down on a clearing because of humans' deforestation activities.
