2. Activities.

2.1 Products and services of Google.

2.1.1. Web-based products and services.

First of all Google is a web search engine. Google search was the first creation of the company, and it remains the most well known service they have offered. Around the search engine, they have developped a range of search tools which are directly linked to Google Search such as Google Image Search, Google News or Google Translate.

Google has also created an advertising service, which was one of the first to do advertising on the internet. The system does the link between people who want to put adds on their web page (and be payed for it) and people who want to advertise (and pay Google to do it).

On the same idea, Google also offers Development ressources which gives tools to people who would like to create a web-page. They can optimize the performance of their web-page with page speed for example.

Map-related products are offered by Google such as Google Maps a Mapping service that indexes streets and displays satellite and street-level imagery, providing driving directions and local business search.

Youtube, one of the main website in the world, is run by Google too. It's a website where you can share every video you want. You can find musics, web-series, film trailers...

2.1.2. Operating systems and desktop applications by Google.

We all know “Android”, an operating system for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers.

Google TV is a smart TV platform that integrates Android and the Linux version of Google Chrome to create an interactive television overlay on top of existing internet television and WebTV sites to add a 10-foot user interface.

Google Chrome the new web browser launched by Google to make your internet researches easier and a lot faster.

Google Earth is a virtual 3D globe that uses satellite imagery and aerial photography. It is useful to visualize a place like a city, a street, and even a house. It is so precise that you can see all the details of the house you’re looking at for example.

Picasa is a photo organization and editing application, providing photo library options and simple effects. Also includes Facial Recognition and GeoTagging features.

Google Talk is an instant messaging service that provides both text and voice communication. Today, Google Talk is considered as one of the best messaging service, due to the fact that it can be used both on computer and smartphone.

2.1.3. Google’s Mobile applications.

Google Calendar displays a list of all Google Calendar events on a mobile device; users can quickly add events to personal calendars.

Books an app only available in the U.S., UK, Australia, Canada and India. It’s a downloadable application that allows users to buy and download books and keep them stored on remote servers, allows reading one book on a variety of devices.

Gmail is a downloadable application that has many advantages over accessing Gmail through a web interface on a mobile at any time, such as the ability to interact with Gmail
