1. Présentation of Brazil
Brazil is the largest country in Latin America and the fifth largest in the world. It is a presidential Federal Republic governed by Jair Bolsonaro.
Despite a growing population (209.4 million) and a rising urbanization rate (87 per cent), life expectancy remains low (75.45 years) and the literacy rate of 92.6 per cent are indicative of the country's poverty.
This shows the country's development transition and has a heavy impact on the means of information used by Brazilians.
2. The different média

82% of the government's advertising budget goes to the five largest television groups, while a third of radio advertising spending benefits only 150 stations.
