The Netherlands
The Netherlands are located in the north of the Europe, near the Belgium and the Germany.
There are 411,96 hab/km². It’s a very a very high population density but it’s because it’s a small country and it’s a country with 16 million of inhabitants. We can say that the Netherlands are overcrowed. But the east of the Netherlands is rather empty contrary to the west where there is the capital city of The Netherlands: Amsterdam. Amsterdam is one of the biggest city of The Netherlands with Rotterdam, The Hague and Urecht. All these cities are located in the west, in a region called “The Randstad”. In fact, the majority of the Dutch population lives in The Randstad. Before the exchange, I knew that The Netherlands are flat and are very near the sea level but I didn’t knew that there’s no mountain and that some places lie below sea level!
My Project
I was in a large group because we were seven to work on this project. Monday we searched mainly, how we will present our project and what we are going to do, because our partners had already decided what was the theme of our project: The happiness of being in a community. The problem was that our partners spoke in Dutch with each other and they asked in English if we agreed. We didn’t speak together in English and in my opinion it’s too bad.
Finally, the next day, we went in a forest in bike where we picked up waste for the Dutch community during approximately two hours. So we walked a lot in the forest and next to the plains. Of course, we used something to hold the waste without our hands and we had a trash. It was really great because I like to walk, the weather was good, I appreciate the autumnal landscape and I was happy to help the Dutch community because I spend a very great week there.
