Rock

Rock has been around since about the late 1940’s to the early 1050’s. It first appeared in America. Rock has evolved from a few types of music such as rock and jazz. Rock was inspired by most of the following famous musicians: Chuck Berry, Frank Sinatra, Patti Page, Les Paul and Mary Ford. Most of these people were again Jazz or blues players. Most rock bands are made up of a Guitarist, a bassist and a drummer. Here are the names of a few famous rock bands: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Guns ‘n’ Roses ETC… After Rock, a few other types of music appeared such as hard rock in the 1970’s, Grunge in the 1990’s and metal in the 1970’s. Grunge became famous in the first half of the 1990s mostly because of the release of Nirvana’s “Nevermind” and Pearl Jam’s “Ten”.

Foo Fighters

The band I chose for this project is the Foo Fighters because they are my all time favorite band and my uncle got to meet them after playing at a concert. They are a famous rock band composed of Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, Taylor Hawkins and Chris Shiflett. The Foo Fighters formed in 1994 in Seattle following the tragic death of Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain. At the time, Dave Grohl (lead guitarist and singer of the foo fighters) was Nirvana’s drummer but liked to write songs and play all sorts of instruments. After the death, in Seattle (1994), of Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl started solo for a few months but quickly formed his own band (the foo fighters). The Foo Fighters’ first album was made fully by Dave Grohl playing every instrument. They then wrote another album together and started touring in 1996.
