in the late 30's,adaline bowman survives a terrible car wreck wich inexplicably confer her the eternal youth.since then because of her new status of "freak of nature" she's forced to live a secretive life ,especially to hide away from the authorities wich won't esitate to use her as a guinea pig to run experiments.The only person in the know is her daughter of whom she separate in order to not compromise her,but they'll keep in touch and meet every year for birthdays.To go unnoticed ,because her appearence doesn t match her age as the time pass ,she regularly changes identity ,wich imply she can'thave a stable relationship and she'll never settle down and build a family.the boredome of a meaningless life ,the pain to witness her only daughter aging while she remains forever young, is shaken by another twist of fate.a particulary audatious lover convince her to spend a week end in his family house and thus to meet his parents,doing this she clearly breaks one of her most important rule , never get involved with someone on a regular basis.it happen her boyfriend's father recognises her as they once been together forty years ago ,incredulous in the beginning his certainty growns stronger as he find a proof that unmasked her .when the father decide to face adaline ,in order to get the confirmation she's her former girlfriend she prefers to escape .while shes running away by car she had another accident ,in the same condition as the one that made her immortal.

then the bell rang and the class was over,so we couldn't watch the last 10 minutes of the movie.but my best guess is :she got back to normal ,marry the guy ,and finally die her happy life.

bottom line: if you're out of sleeping pills ,watch this movie.
