Good morning. Today im going to discuss the notion places and forms of power. To do so, i would like to first of all define the most important term, which is Power and its different forma.

Until a few decades ago, media didn't have as much importance as it does today. It all started with the press. It was watergate that instigated the growth of media relevancy in our society. The watergate is the building where the democratic party's office is in the united states. In 1972 the offices were robbed, five men were arrested. The Republican Nixon won the elections, later in November that year. The investigators learnt that Nixon's assistants were involved in the burglary, and they wiretapped. The court asked Nixon to hand over the tapes but he refused, which was an obstruction to justice so he was impeached, but instead, he resigned in 1974 and the americans elected to Congress a huge class of idealists bent on reforming that nation's institutions and wresting power from the few. Through this example, we see the importance of investigative journalism. The Washington post journalists became very famous and became heroes and they never gave up on unveiling the truth despite all the trouble they faced. They formed a counter-power and denounced the dtysfunctioning at the highest rank of power. Thanks to them now we have proof that the system works, that law and the Constitution prevail over the excesses of craven politicians. It was the beginning of an era of inspection aided by the flocking of journalism schools. Thanks to that scandal freedom of information laws were passed.
