Finally, Colombus was born not far from Scioto River.

Luckily, there was no conflicts between the different people which were already leaving in the area.

Colombus has grown very fast. After a canal and a national route's construction between 1830 and 1835, the city evolved into an important transportation centre.

Colombus officially became a city in 1834 and got its first railway in 1850. The capital also had a significant military role during American Civil War (1861-1865).

After 1940, Colombus experienced a growth economic phase.
