My name is Santos PAULO, I’m 28 years old and I live in NANTES. I prepare a Management Assistant BTS by week-release vocational training. I work in PAPREC as assistant for debt collection.

PRESENTATION

The company :

PAPREC was created in 1995 by Jean-Luc PETITHUGUENIN who left his management position at the Générale des Eaux to take over small paper recycling company, with 45 employees and €3.5 Million turover.

Convinced of the recycling market’s great potential and certain that it was to become one of the 21st century’s most important enterprises, he decided to vecome the leader in the field.

Services :

In just a few years, the little recycling company from La Courneuve has become one of the key players in the recycling world, ready to take on any recycling and waste management ventures.

PAPREC recycles products like :

Paper

Plastics

Wood

Metal

Green waste…

The customers :

PAPREC works with companies on the French Market like « Maisons du monde, Carrefour, In Extenso… »

The company have municipalities as clients for example Nantes Métropole and others.

The General Organisation :

The director of the Regional headquarters in Saint-Herblain is Stéphane ARMANGE. The site of Saint-Herblain is divided in many departments :

Human resources department

Management

Accounting department

Recovery department

Information Technology…

I work in the Recivery department

This departement includes eight people who are overseen by a Credit Manager Peggy CARDOSO.

Peggy CARDOSO is my mebtor and my line manager.

Every week I word 35 hours (Iwork 5 days from 8.30 am to 5 pm).

WORKSTATION AND PROJECT

In PAPREC, I began the last summer and I’m a recovery assistant, I’m in charge of calling customers who don’t pay their invoices.

I’m in charge of customer file management.

Sometimes, I have to do administrative work like checking my e-mails.

For my exam project, I decided to improve the archiving system.

The company has to be becareful of its documents because this is evidence in the event of a legal conflict.

So to be in order, the company has tohave a good archiving system ;

Problems and solutions :

Adapt to a new company code of conduct and hierarchical organization

Improve my negociation arguments

Working with the best of the best has made mi an assest to any company that will hire me.

CONCLUSION

BTS choise :

My previous employer was the Army and I worked 3 years for them. Now, my host company is PAPREC. Today, thanks to this training I have a lot of business skills.

It helped me improve my skills and I managed to acquire various skills like how to use office pack.

I don’t regret that choice, week-release vocational training has been a goog decision professionally speaking and it has given me first-hand knowledge of life in a company. I hope to have the opportunity to do a degree in accounting.
