  1. Description of the document :

This is a screenshot of an online buying webpage of Costco Store. Costco Store, in full Costco Wholesale Corporation, is an American operator of discount stores of the type known as warehouse clubs or wholesale clubs, in which bulk quantities of merchandise are sold at deeply discounted prices to club members who pay an annual membership fee. It is one of the largest retailers in the world. There are 28 Costco stores scattered around the UK, all owned by the US company.

Costco membership is still a requirement to shop in any warehouse, however you don’t need a Costco membership to shop online at costco.co.uk. However, if you are not a member, you will be charged a deliver-fee.

In this screenshot of the online buying webpage by Costco store, we can see the photograph/picture of the product which is sold: this is a petbed of the Kirkland Signature brand sold at the price of $59.99 (= fifty nine dollars and fifty nine cents) which corresponds to 52.80 € (= fifty two euros and eighty cents of euros) because 1 American dollar corresponds to 0.88 €.

  1. The customer-base:

This product appeals to/is aimed at pet owners/pet lovers with a rather high purchasing power, that’s-to-say belonging to the middle class or upper middle class or even the upper class. This product appeals to all pet lovers, be they families, elderly people or single people, young and old. Since Costco is a wholesaler, the product may also be bought in bulk quantities by pet shops.

  1. The assets of the product:  

This petbed is a luxury petbed. It is top-quality and made in a nice fabric (“upholstery-grade home décor fabric”), the fabric is of high quality and has a nice design (“herringbone”).

Moreover, it is very comfortable (“foam-filled”, “bolstered back” and “arms perfect for nesting”).

What’s more, it’s environmentally-friendly/eco-friendly which means it’s safe for the planet because it’s filled with recycled polyester and it’s very easy to use and easy-care because it’s “zippered and removable” and it’s machine-washable.

  1. How to make the newsletter attractive and efficient:

To make the newsletter attractive and efficient, I would directly address myself to the customers using the pronoun “you” to get in touch with them, to create contact. I would start the newsletter with something like “You have a dog or you are a dog-owner and you are searching/seeking for the perfect gift to make it feel very comfortable at home. We have the perfect petbed to make your dog /pet feel as snug as a bug in a rug”.

I would insist on the quality of the product and I would say that it’s low-priced in comparison with/compared with the comfort and pleasure/well-being that it will provide to your four-legged friend. I would finally add that it’s good value for money.
