Don’t play with fire, buy a smoke detector!

In this campaign we’ll talk about dangers of fire especially domestic fire.

First we will talk about our association, and then we are going to explain you how to protect against fire.

The idea of an association grew up in my head after living a horrible memory. In 1982 when I was 12 the house where I was living with my parents took fire in the middle of the night. The fire began from the electricity meter because of a short circuit. First, it came to my parents ‘bedroom. Then to my sister’s one, the house fell down on them. They have passed away. As far as I’m concerned the fireman’s found me in the ruins of my house, with injuries all over. We hadn’t got any smoke detector at the time.

It took me a very long time to get psychologically better again, I will never forget this memory. Finally it gave me the power to create a prevention association. I was helped by my two best friends john and Donald, we called it fire protect.

We chose this logo because it represents well our motivation. We want you to protect from the fire by buying a detector.

Now we’ll talk about prevention against domestic fire

First, a fire need three factors to begin, a combustive, a fuel and heat. It’s the heat which brings the energy nedeed by the fire to begin. Then it’s maintained by the heat produced.

We just need to look around to see that burning is omnipresent, for example with gas at home, in the motor of a petrol gas car, or when smoking a cigarette.

More than 30 domestic fires a day began because of inattention imprudence or careless behavior!

The main causes of fires are:

-the electricity in more than 30% of the cases

-also leaks of flammable liquids or gas

-heating systems

These began from different places:

-29% from garbage chute

-23% from the bedroom

-21% from the living room

Let us give you some statistics about domestic fire:

-One is beginning every two minutes

-It’s the second reason of mortality by domestic accident for kids under 5.

-It kills 800 people every year

-50 % of people who live a domestic fire are killed or admitted to hospital with serious injuries

-75% of the victim are killed by the smoke

-300 000 (three hundred thousand) domestic fires are declared every year to the insurance companies.

-Finally 1 people on 3 will be victim of a fire during his life
